Book Formatting,
Design, and Publication |

1. Prepare and format the
edited text of the manuscript into a paperback book, including, but not
limited to, title page, copyright page, table of contents, sections,
chapters, page numbers, page headings, pictures, illustrations, graphics, end
notes, index, appendix, and/or other components of the interior text: a)
according to the client's specifications; and, b) according to the
requirements established by the on-line printing and publishing service. |

2. Design the front cover,
back cover, and spine of the book: a) according to the client's
specifications; and, b) according to the requirements established by the
on-line printing and publishing service. |
|
3. On behalf of the client,
open and maintain a client account at an on-line printing and publishing
service. |
|
4. Assist the client with
logging into, adding information to, maintaining, and purchasing from, the
on-line printing and publishing service. |
|
5. Inform the client of
upgrades offered by the on-line printing and publishing service. |
|
6. On behalf of the client,
procure an ISBN (International Standard Book Number) from the on-line
printing and publishing service. |
|
7. On behalf of the client,
open and maintain an account at http://pcn.loc.gov/for the purpose of applying
for an LCCN (Library of Congress Control Number) for the client's book. |
|
8. On behalf of the client,
procure an LCCN (Library of Congress Control Number) from the on-line
Preassigned Control Number Program of the Library of Congress. |
|
9. Upload the formatted book
and completed cover to the on-line printing and publishing service. |
|
10. Purchase
one proof of the book and send it to the client for evaluation and approval. |
|
11. Revise
book and cover design according to the results of the client's evaluation. |
|
12. After
client’s final approval, oversee publication of book. |
|
13. Communicate
regularly with the client to be sure all work on the book is
flowing smoothly according to the client's expectations. |

Digital Reader (Kindle and/or
Nook) Formatting, Design, and Publication |
|
1. On
behalf of the client, open and maintain a client account at an on-line ebook
publishing service. |
|
2. Upload
the ebook to on-line publishing service. |
|
3. Finalize
publication of ebook. |
|
4. Communicate
regularly with the client to be sure all work on the ebook is flowing
smoothly according to the client's expectations. |
|
Editing and Publicity (Separate Fees Apply) |
|
1. Editing – Edit the client's
manuscript, correcting errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, mechanics,
and syntax. Editing fee depends upon the length of the manuscript and the extent of editing necessary. Note:
There will be little, if any, revision of content. |

2. Author Page – Design Author
Page at POD Publishing Service and Amazon Author Central. |
|
3. Sell Sheet and Synopsis – Using
client’s wording and ideas, design a Sell Sheet and/or Synopsis Sheet for
publicity purposes. Manage printing and shipping for the client. |

4. Book Launch Announcements,
Bookmarks, Post Cards, etc. – Using client’s
wording and ideas, design printed items for publicity purposes. Manage
printing and shipping for the client. |
